This morning Apple launched a new, cheaper iMac. However, rumors last week said that Apple would update the whole iMac line. Apple was also expected to launch a cheaper iMac at WWDC, but they didn’t.
This new iMac is only for the 21.5-inch screen size line, not the larger 27-inch model. The specs are also pretty mediocre. Previously, the specs of the cheapest iMac had a 2.7GHz i5 processor, 1 TB hard drive, Iris Pro Graphics, and 8 GB of RAM. It came in at $1,299. This new iMac now costs $1,099 and has a 1.4GHz i5 processor, 8 GB of RAM, 500 GB hard drive, and Intel HD Graphics 5000. You can buy the new iMac here.
