Is your HD camera really HD?

When you are looking for a camcorder it may be called “Full HD”. This means that when you look and upload a video it will be in HD (720p or 1080p). Other camcorders may not say anything meaning that it will upload in 480p or less. We want to let you know if your HD camcorder is really HD.
Here is the answer:
When you upload a video from a “Full HD” camcorder without changing the pixel rate like in iMovie, you will see that the highest video quality would be 720p or 1080p (depending or the age of your camera). The video uploading in 720p or 1080p is considered HD, but is your camera recording in HD? When your camera says “Full HD” it means that the file type is an HD file. This doesn’t necessarily mean that the camera is recording in HD. The actual video quality is based on the megapixels the camera has. So if you have a 3 megapixel full HD camera, this video quality would be not as good as an 8 megapixel camera. We can’t say for sure if the quality of the video would be, as a viewer would say, “HD quality”.
Conclusion:
Even though the file type is HD, it is up to you to determine if the video is HD quality. So keep in mind that the camera says full HD, but doesn’t necessarily mean that the video quality is HD.
