Otterbox Has Bough LifeProof

Popular rugged iPhone case maker Otterbox has just bought LifeProof. They both announced it today at the CTIA wireless show. Right now we aren’t sure why Otterbox bought LifeProof, but we do know that they bought them for a large undisclosed sum.
Otterbox and LifeProof both make tuff waterproof cases for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod. LifeProof makes only one line of cases for iDevices, where Otterbox makes many different types of cases with different levels of protection.
All I can say now is that I hope Otterbox doesn’t change the design of the LifeProof case. I am a huge fan of LifeProof and would not trust my iPhone in any case other than LifeProof. I’m not a big fan of Otterbox. Their cases are very bulky and the overall design isn’t that good.
