T-Mobile Releases Their iPhone 5 Statistics

05/08/2013 17:07

T-Mobile just released their first earning report since they started selling the iPhone 5 on April 12th. According to the report, this is the first time they gained a substantial amount of new customers in 17 quarters. In fact they gained about 579,000 new customers.

It seems like the iPhone 5 was a big hit for T-Mobile. Back in 2011 they had one million iPhone users and now they have over 2.1 million users. In that last 30 days T-Mobile has sold a staggering 500,000 iPhone 5s, which is surprising since the iPhone 5 has been out for almost eight months. Despite selling 500,000 iPhones, they saw a 7% drop in revenue from a year earlier.

It seems that the iPhone paired with their no-contract plan was a great idea. It will be interesting to see their stats when they get the iPhone 5S. Do you think they will do just as good or will their “Uncarrier” plan be old news?
